Books displayed on four shelves, respectively labelled LGBT+ history month, Shetland, maritime, and censorshipWe have a set of feature shelves which change by the day / week / month to reflect topical events: such as Shetland's Up Helly Aa fire festivals in January & February, Shetland Screenplay and Wool Week in September; spring gardening, activities for kids in the holidays, ideas for celebrating special occasions whether that's a birthday, Christmas or Chinese New Year; and raising awareness of important issues such as LGBT+ history month (March), Men's Health Awareness Month (November), Black History Month (October), or National Writing Day in June.
